New Addition (Part 3 of 3)

Well, I didn't make this one.

Can you spot it?

That's right. I won an Emmy! Can you believe it?

The award is Individual Achievement in Animation and I won for animation I did on an episode of (the now canceled) Moral Orel called Sacrifice.
(My parents, Harv and I before the ceremony)

I know this is a craft blog, not a stop-motion, self-promotion blog but come on! It's too exciting not to share. So this is just a little peek at what's been going on in my work life. I've really been feeling like I have settled into my career. It's not just a job. It's also not something that I'm struggling to do, hoping that no one figures out how under qualified I am. I feel like I know what I'm doing and I can hold my own out there. It's a nice feeling!

So...if you happen to be home at 1 o'clock tomorrow (Friday) afternoon turn on E! and you might get to see me give my speech. They're televising a 2 hour special of the Creative Arts Emmy ceremony which actually took place last weekend. Of course, the ceremony was four hours long so I may end up on the cutting room floor. So just in case, we have a bootleg iPhone movie! Enjoy my awkwardness!

  6. Elation!
Stop-motion and craftability is what makes this place extra awesome, so please do not hold back.
What a triumph to be recognized and honored this way, but especially to realize how good You feel about your accomplishments. I am giving you a standing ovation.
Extra points for bringing your family... that is really cool.

  16. Liz, you deserved that award a whole year ago. Now you should have two. But I'm so relieved you at least got one. It makes me less mad at the world.

  26. That is just plain awesome - they don't give those to just anybody, you know! Honestly, if you didn't get excited or post it on your blog, I'd get the impression that it didn't really mean anything to you or you were "fake" modest. :-) Happy to know that awards go to talented people who are really honoured to get them! Congratulations!!

    What Dino said. :)

Super late checking in on your blog to see the lovely photos. (Great dress and hair, by the way) I love that your kitty is snuggling with the Emmy. Smart feline.

Congratulations again. You really are my hero.

  30. Wow. Randomly found your blog because of your quilt label method AND I just about had a heart attack. I totally <3 Moral Orel. 'Mommy, mommy, you're my mommy!!!' Congratulations on the Emmy!!! It's ok to toot your horn when you're rad ;)

  32. Congratulations on your Emmy! What an honor just being nominated, and to win! Icing on a huge cake! I discovered your blog on The Plaid Scottie's list of favorites. I will go back to the beginning and read through yours in order like I did Kaelin's - better that way. I think I gave a vintage Star Wars sheet like that to my daughter-in-law for my grandson. His dad slept on them when he was a pipsqueek. I miight have to ask for them back if she still has them. There were Superman ones, too. Loving all the Apple stuff. I was having a hard time with pictures not coming throough this morning. You know the box with the blue question mark inside instead of an image. Better luck another time maybe. I am an ipad user - love, love, love it. Read on the treadmill, words with friends, reading quilting blogs, etc. Thinking about starting a blog myself when I have time. There's never enough time, right? Just do it already!
